Elisa S. Tuffy, MS, NCC
My name is Elisa and I am working towards my Licensed Professional Counselor licensure. I work with adolescents, adults, couples, and families. Using an eclectic treatment approach that often begins with cognitive and behavioral interventions and integrates approaches that unite techniques from a variety of therapeutic modalities, such as solution-focused brief therapy, cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), trauma-focused CBT, and motivational interviewing. This integrated approach allows me to build a therapeutic experience that harmonizes with my client’s unique needs and strengths, tailoring therapy to meet each person’s or family’s goals and needs.
In clinical and field settings I have worked with individuals, couples, families and groups in the treatment of addiction, trauma, anxiety, depression, grief, adjustment and phase of life issues. As well as parenting, body image and self-esteem, relationship concerns, behavioral issues, career discovery and development. My passion lies in helping people bring more awareness, spontaneity, and joy back into their lives. I believe that you are the expert of your own experience and, as your therapist, it’s my job to hold a safe space for to discover and identify your strengths, goals and to develop a path to accomplishing those goals.
I earned my undergraduate and graduate degrees from the University of Scranton including a Bachelor of Arts in Liberal Studies, Master of Science in Human Resources and received my Master of Science in Clinical Mental Health Counseling in May 2020.
